Bald-Ease

Source

"I am not my hair. I am not this skin. I am not your expectations, no."- India.Arie

With this being Memorial Day, I think (if the weather cooperates) we can declare this the official beginning of summer. I have seen so many stylish women in the city rocking beautiful low-fades or completely shaved heads for the past few months now, and I been so inspired and in awe of this stunning look-so much so that I have wondered how I would look without hair.

Are you thinking about cutting it all off? Here is a quick checklist that will help you pull off this look with effortless ease:

1. A Dope T-Shirt:

Short Hair, Don't Care

6. Extra Glam Shades

Career-The Love Story

I like to think of my professional journey as a love story, one that could be beautifully told in a Taylor Swift song perhaps.

For as long as I could recall, I always had an infatuation for media- print to be exact. I remember vividly having fond daydreams of one day working at a print publication, my first love.

Soon after, I had the opportunity to begin my career in publishing, where I became a writer and editor for a national magazine Urban Influence.

Then one day, it happened. I fell for another, and they called it social media. I was introduced to this new attraction by way of Twitter. From that moment on, I was completely enthralled, and it wasn’t long before I fell in love with all things digital media.

Leveraging my background in journalism, I specialize in creating content that connects brands with their core audience and helping brands evolve online. Over the years I’ve worked as a content and social media strategist for a variety of industries including beauty, fashion, medical, travel, culinary arts and sports in consumer, business to business, and non-profit companies.

Today, I am a well-rounded media professional with almost a decade of experience in both print and digital media behind me.

In my spare time, I still moonlight with my first love as a freelance writer for several publications and blogs (both in the U.S. and abroad) including Black Enterprise and Radio One.
